Workshop on Low Temperature Geothermal

The GEOTHERMICA Initiative

Low Temperature Geothermal Workshop at GeoTHERM 2026

The GEOTHERMICA Initiative organized a workshop on low temperature geothermal energy at the GeoTHERM Expo & Conference 2026 in Offenburg, Germany.

Representatives from Ireland, Iceland, Poland, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland attended the workshop. Discussions focusing on regional opportunities, national visions and strategies for geothermal energy, international collaboration, and low temperature geothermal projects.

It was evident at the workshop that there is significant interest in strengthening international collaboration on the advancement of geothermal energy, and potentially organize another joint call within the GEOTHERMICA Initiative community.
