Roadmap for a Policy and Regulatory Framework in Ireland

We are sharing with you the newest developments in Ireland on geothermal energy launched at Geoscience 2020 Conference and being led by one of our partners  Geological Survey of Ireland. The co-authors Ms. Sara Blake and Aoife Braiden are cooperating with GEOTHERMICA Consortium for over two years and currently published document "An Assessment of Geothermal Energy for District Heang in Ireland" which focuses not only on geothermal energy but the use of it in district heating system in Ireland.

The document has been compiled by Geological Survey Ireland, a division of the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC) in fulfilment of a commitment under the All of Government Climate Action Plan of 2019. This assessment will support the Department’s non-technical Roadmap for a Policy and Regulatory Framework for Geothermal Energy in Ireland.
