GEOTHERMICA Annual Meeting 2019 impression from Lisbon

Press Release

Last week the Partners of the GEOTHERMICA consortium met for an Annual Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal. Hosted by Portugal's Directorate General for Energy & Geology (DGEG), the representatives of 12 countries and institutions as well as two regional governments met for two days of productive talks on the lessons learned and the future of GEOTHERMICA. The talks were concluded with a Stakeholders meeting including members of the Portuguese academia and industry showcasing among others localised district heating projects.

GEOTHERMICA has been a resounding success, highlighting the importance of geothermal countries pooling their resources to drive forward geothermal development in Europe and elsewhere. The Second Call of the Project is anticipated to be called for in the summer of 2019.
